A Message for California's ASES and 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grantees

Congratulations on receiving your Prop 49 funding for the ASES programs. You now have the resources you need to run a great program.

But condolences, also. Because, as you are probably aware, you also just inherited what could be a massive data collection and reporting headache:

You're going to have to keep track of each child's attendance along with which funding source paid for each individual child on each individual day. You're going to have to separate out Base from Supplemental funding, before-school from after-school programs. If you have multiple ASES or 21st Century grants, you may have multiple funding streams for single classes or programs. Keeping track of it all can get real complicated, real fast.
